I also have interests in the advancement of ophthalmology through the use of new technologies” expressed Dr. Baseer Ahmad. He is a 2008-graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. His postgraduate training includes his internship at Sinai Grace Hospital/ Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, his ophthalmology residency served at the Cole Eye Institute of the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH (2009-2012), as well as his vitreoretinal diseases and surgery fellowship performed at The Retina Institute of St. Louis (2012-2014). Dr. Ahmad completed his undergraduate education in electrical engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. He attained board certification in ophthalmology with the American Board of Ophthalmology and remains a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Furthermore, he has been honored with the 2015 Teacher of the Year Award in the Department of Ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Ahmad has authored several dozen peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, instructive videos, and online articles regarding vitreoretinal diseases and surgery.
